Does anyone have a HM-250 Cultivator guide that shows how to properly set the front and rear wheel spacing on Farmall M for 30 inch corn rows? I have 6.00-16 tires on front (narrow front) and 13-38s' on the rear. The rear wheel hubs are all the way in on the axles.

To set the rear for 30" rows(60" center of tire to center of tire) the wheels have to be positioned with the dish in.The fronts, set them close in.Or get a wide front,or a single wheel.

It's really not rocket science. For 30" rows, your rear tires should measure 30" from the center of the tractor to the center of the tire. Or, 60" from the center of one rear tire to the center of the other rear tire. That will place the tires running exactly between the rows of plants.

On an M, it will probably be necessary to swap the left and right wheels so the rear hubs are dished out, in order to get them narrow enough.

Up front, as narrow as possible if you have adjustable tread width. Otherwise, drive carefully.

I don't know about the 250 but the book says the 221 can't go to 30 because the inside row teeth will not clear the frame when it lifts. There is a shield to be used with the 221 over the oil pan taps for rows less than 36". The 250 may be different enough not to give you trouble. Only 221 cultivators around here.

I have variable tread front wheels. I'm setting them to the "thinnest" width possible. The rear wheels are currently dished out. When rolled completely in on the axles I measure 72" center to center on the tires. I'll have to swap the rims and tires side to side so they dish in to get the 60" center to center.

I haven't mounted the cultivators yet to see if I can get them set for 30" rows with out hitting the frame or oil pan.

Rear wheel hub "clamping" bolts are frozen. Broke six point 1" impact socket trying to break them loose. any ideas on how to free the bolts?
