New Holland Model 76 Baler

We have an old Model 76 baler that has been sitting on our family's cabin property for over 40 years. My grandfather used it for a few years haying the field.

It's not in great shape, but is a nice artifact that we have recently moved to put on display near our cabin.

The serial number on it is 358110249. I was hoping to find out what year it was made.

Thanks from Vancouver Island, BC, Canada

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate it.

The last 4 digits on the tag is 0249. I wonder if this would happen to indicated a build date of February, 1949?

Cannot tell from picture I can get. Is that baler a left side pickup? If I remember the 76 was left side and then New Holland switched to right side with the 77 that followed. I have seen the 77 in my 74 years but don't ever remember seeing a 76. And I think the 76 was the first automatic twine tie model NH made. Back in the archives if somebody would know hot to get it is the complete information on all those old NH balers.
