Can you revive non-working guages

I was wondering if old gauges(temperature & oil on a JD40t)can be brought back to life or is this just something that is better to buy new? The oil guage is down by the filter and the temp guage runs through the dash if that helps.

Google 1933 Plymouth tempature gauge repair. It can be done but replacements are easy to get.

Ive seen old temp gauges repaired. You have to buy a new manual temp gauge, put the bulb in a bowl of ice water and cut the line. Slide the two pieces of line together into a tiny piece of copper pipe and soulder them together. All while the bulb remains in the bowl of ice water.
