pony sucking

just installed a different pony, finally cranked it
awhile, how can it suck crankcase oil into the gas
tank. it has a different looking fitting in the the
intake to the carb than my other pony. a round
thing with a button and spring. am gettin really
frustrated. id love to hear any ideas or
suggestions. my other pony has a pipe plug in the
block that this contraption is plumbed into. i know
i prolly sound dumb as hell. but this is my first
rodeo!!

it sounds like you have the sediment bowl fuel valve that runs off of oil pressure the diaphragms go bad in them and suck oil into the fuel tank either eliminate it or get a new one

Well... The good news is that your pony has oil pressure. The bad news is that you need to rebuild or remove the oil pressure fuel shut-off. If you remove, you may want to start using the manual fuel shut-off valve to stop the flow of gas.

thanks guys, i feel a little better now. i bought this pony from a fellow who had removed it from a non running tractor, and he assured me it ran well before he removed it. i will take that thing off and see what else i have done wrong. i have already installed and removed this pony twice, ugh!

Had a similar experience last summer with one of my pony motors (cranking engine). Had the trans on and off twice and it still needs some work. So your not the only one and you will not be the last to get the run around trying to fix these things.
