By you mentioning setting gears is your drill double-run feed? How long is seed box on your drill? Are the seeding charts missing inside grain box lid?

My spacing is 11 wide and I do have a chart but I really don't understand it trying to get 150-180 pounds per acres
I have a picture of it not sure how to post it

I hate to sound like B&D, but you really need the manual to understand what chains / sprocket and settings that will ne needed.
I failed to post a phone number, maybe B&D will help me out.

IS your drill a JD 16 hole ten inch spacing drill???? IF it is then it is more than likely what they call a double run type drill. You set the speed and GATES to get your seeding rate. I have done one in 20 years but your manual will show you how IF you get to the correct section. You need to be setting the double run drill not the fluted feed drill. The manual shows both.
