4020 joystick plumbing less rockshaft

Have a 4020 without factory 3-pt and want to plumb in a loader joystick.
Supply oil fitting in front of brake pedals is just plugged with cork as well as under the dash. Do I just need to order the proper oil line and fittings for under the dash to supply the rockshaft fitting by the brake?
Or what have other guys done when tractor isn't equipped with 3-pt?

There's a couple of ways... there's a hex plug in the pressure control valve under the dash coverthat can be removed and the hose from the loader valve connected there, or (if not a side console model) to a "T" installed instead of an elbow in the supply line to the SCV's under the hood.

I've posted photos many times before, but thanks to photobucket deciding to try to rape us hobby users I can't quickly post them.

Plug(key 19) is the one Bob referred to for pressure oil. Thread size of plug is 0.875 IN/14 TPI.

thanks for the response guys.
i'll order the fittings from deere but that steel oil line is pricey, likely just make up a hyd hose in place of it.

as for a joystick, these are two I've been looking at. Is one better over the other? Going to operate a 148 JD loader on my 4020.

I would recommend to NOT select the 25 GPM valve as it will have little to no feathering capabilities of FEL. Also you do not need the power beyond fitting shown because the orifice on valve body where it's intended to fit is where the closed-center plug belongs.

What GPM 2 spool valve would you recommend for a 1970 4020 and a JD 148 loader? Thank-you for all your informative posts!

If I put on a joystick on my 4320, it will be a joystick from a Deere Industrial like a 400, so it will look factory, with the big cast valve levers. Plus those have a very long levers and can really be made to bolt up nice.

alright guys, finally finished all the plumbing and mounting of my new joystick.
Got the correct pipe and fittings to get supply oil from the priority valve down to the RS port near brake pedals. Then ran return oil to the RS return port just behind the filter housing.
Ran the tractor with everything hooked up for the first time yesterday. Raised and lowered a few times to bleed any air out.
Finding that when raising loader, the hydraulics are "chattering" almost seems like pump not having enough oil or pressure to operate it.
any suggestions? new filter and screen is clean also.
I ended up buying the Brand Hydraulics joystick, and turned the relief spring all the way in...

The oil return to the tractor is supposed to be the port that leads to the passage between the transmission pump outlet and the hydraulic filter inlet .
Is there oil flow from the return line into the tractor when the loader controls are at rest in the neutral position.

I'll suggest to check stand-by pressure. I'd set stand-by at 2350 psi. How long since hyd filter was changed & sump screen checked/cleaned?
New filter and screen just checked as well
