jd 6170r injector sequence number

Dunno if this applies to DEERE, but I was reading about another brand of common-rail diesel a few days ago, and the injectors were each encoded with a digital "serial number" at the factory and the engine control computer need to be told initially in which cylinder the specific serial-numbered injector was install so it could trigger each injector when needed (firing order) by sending the appropriate "injector name/serial number" over a common "bus".

In other words, all the injectors "see" the digital command to inject, but only the one with the matching encoded number actually "triggers".

You need to keep the injectors with the same cylinder they came out of. ECU knows the code number on injector for the cylinder it was installed in. If your putting in new injectors or reman you need to load those new numbers into the ECU.
