John Deere 40 Touch o Matic drain plug

I have just bought a John Deere 40 and I am going through and changing all of the fluids. I need to change my touch o matic oil however the drain plug looks like it has a square hole instead of a traditional head where you can get a wrench on it. Am I looking at the right one and if so what do you recommend I use to get it out? Thanks!

If you are looking at a Model 40S (Standard), then yes you are looking at the right one.

Take a look at the [b:654c4848f0]TOUCH-O-MATIC ROCKSHAFT ASSEMBLY Standard[/b:654c4848f0] below.

Note the 3/8 inch pipe plug (Key 20) part no. [b:654c4848f0]15H 583 A[/b:654c4848f0].

Take a look at the photos below of "Audie" our 54 Model 40S.

You might consider using a piece of 1/4 inch key stock to remove the plug.

Hope this helps.
