Air conditioner compressor went out on my 4040. Replaced the compressor and receiver dryer. Vacuumed system and re charged. High side goes to 175 and low side at 10, 90 degrees ambient temp. Not cooling like I want or expect it to. Do I need to replace the expansion valve?

If the expansion valve has the little cone screen in it, you could check/clean/replace that, otherwise the valve needs to go.

You may want to add some more refrigerant After checking the expansion valve, your pressures should
be 50-55 low side, 225-250 high side. This is using 134a with an ambient temp of 90 degrees

Your tractor should hold 3 1/4# 134A W/Sanden compressor.Your pressures indicate adding a little more refrigerant as high side pressure should be 2 times outside temp plus 20 to 50# depending on air flow through condenser. Have found adding manual inline heater hose shutoff on inlet hose at rear of RH inside fender can result in 20 degree drop in evaporator temp. Seems Deere is only tractor that doesn't have this feature and depends solely on cab control to stop hot water flow through heater core.
