Question on rod bearings

I've got a question concerning rod bearing clearance. Is the clearance built into the bearings and the journal diameters turned to the nominal undersize? I've got a G that I had the rod journals turned .030" under so they should measure 3.345" right?

Right - 3.345 since standard is 3.375. And yes the clearance is "built" into the bearing shells no matter if it's the .003 under or more common standard series of undersize bearing sets. Just an observation - there doesn't seem to be a carved in stone set of rules for how many undersize grinds you can go, some are frightening, .080 and more. Seems most can go .010, .020 and .030 under but some engines extend on that to amazing levels. At least it's amazing to me how far some will go.
