SCV valve linkage 4650

How much of a job is it to renew the SCV valve linkage from the cab to the valve on a 4650? #1 lever has so much slop in the linkage it’s getting hard to have full fast flow function in both directions. I looked at the linkage under the rear of the cab and it looks like a stretch to reach up there to remove it. I just can’t stretch out with my arms in odd positions anymore, the back starts acting up and pains go down the legs. Ugh! This is why I’m asking you guys. In my younger days I would have fearlessly dug into it but not now. Thanks.

There are some plastic bushings that get out of place to cause a lot of the lost motion,,but the roll pin hole in the valve it's self can cause a lot of it,,the hole can get wobbled out,, a new shaft and pin will fix that part.

I was running the remote by hand from behind the tractor this morning and it seemed like there was no play in the valve control lever on the SCV body. It took very little movement to make the valve react. The SCV's were rebuilt 200 hours ago but I don't know how far the dealer went in replacing parts back there.

Have some one work the lever in the cab while you hold onto the linkage at the valve and see how much lost motion you have...too much free travel in the valve adjustment can make this too...
