ser number

Could anyone interpret the ser number 9A 298839 as to year and model. The decals are painted over or missing. I believe it is a 260 series, just don't know for sure. My research has come up negative as to specific model and year.

Post a couple pics of the machine in question and i'm sure someone will know what it is.

It could be a 1979 MF 265 if you sure its a 260 series, pictures of the grill, engine, etc would be helpful. Take some paint thinner, or sandpaper, and carefully remove the paint to where you could see what model decal it has.
