FE35 with no electrics

Just purchased a FE35 Diesel.

It runs but hard to start, the previous owner used to tow start it.
Just washed it down and have noticed there is no wiring harness or control box.
The only electrical is the alternator (no wires connected)
The starter motor and solenoid (only the battery wires connected)
A electrical connection fitted into the top of the crankcase behind the steering box (neutral switch?)
No gauges.

Would this make it hard to start. Allowing for no ignition switch to the solenoid.

Also where are the glow plugs?

This is a four cylinder motor.
S/N: SDM 146502
Could anyone tell which FE35 I have?

And how was it started originally?
I have a TEA20 but assume this is started differently.

I know it runs because it was driven onto the trailer.

If it is a 4 cylinder it is the Standard engine. They were not the best to start. The Perkins 3 cylinder diesel is a much better engine. You can start a diesel engine with no electric system except a starter and battery. It is nice to have an alternator to keep the battery charged.

S/N: SDM 146502 = 125068 ? 171470 .... 1959

S= SDTANDARD UTILITY CHASSIS

D= DIESEL STANDARD 23C ENGINE

M= DUAL CLUTCH
