I am rebuilding my tractor. Hood says its a to35 but engine is a continental z129 making it a to30. I wonder if the liners are the same diameter and size? Can I use a kit for a to35/z134 on my z129 block? Havent been able to get a definitive answer anywhere. Thanks in advance. Gary

I am not 100% sure, but I believe the pistons and sleeves are the same. The kit I received from my local machine shop was for a z134 when I was actually rebuilding a z129 (The machine shop guy did not have the block and through some miscommunication he ordered the parts for the z134). I did not realize the kit was wrong until I got to the head gasket. They are different. The gasket for the timing gear cover was also different. However the pistons and sleeves were in stalled and it runs great.

The new Z129, and Z134 piston/sleeve kits usually use the same sleeves that are bored oversized to use bigger 3 3/8" diameter pistons, same piston diameter the Z145 uses.
Thanks for the info. I just received the z134 kit and it appears to be the same outside diameter. Do you know the difference in head gaskets? I teach at a vocational school and my students are finishing up on a to30 basket case that was drug in. They have excellent oil pressure but the engine doesn't seem to be getting oil to the rocker shaft. I wasn't there when they installed the head and was wondering if they had the wrong head gasket.

Put the head gasket on upside down more than likely.
