Looking for a little guidance on locating parts for my new to me plow. I?m in need of the springs and a bracket that attaches the spring on the top of the axle mast? Like to find some Coulter?s too. I posted on implement alley and someone suggested I try here. Thanks

Finding any parts for that plow will not be easy. I have one also and the few parts that I needed, I made. There are places that will make those springs but the cast threaded part that goes in the top of the spring will have to be made. I would think that a machine shop would be able to make those. The part on top of the axle mast wouldn't be too hard to make.

There were other implements that MM made and other manufacturers that used the cast iron screw in spring ends so that might be a place to look.

alan I'm thinking of the cast iron screw set up that's on my jd. 336 baler the 2 bale tension springs at the back of the bale shute?? maybe fit?

I have one just like that too. It was missing the "helper" lift springs as well. I got mine from an old Gleaner combine head years ago and they work great. Just like the originals and with the cast iron screw head too.

Also the coulters are of the small shaft dia. and not near as big as the ones used on their other pull type plows. How ever I have heard that the old ford dearborn plow coulter shafts are the same size dia. to fit the brackets.

I measured the thickness of the coils. My calipers said 1/4". There are 48 coils. If there's anything else I can help with, let me know.

I have an OLD catalogue of implements which I will look at tonight hopefully to see if dimensions are listed. I allowed MM / Oliver Museum in Charles City Iowa to copy all of the manuals, etc. I had this last spring and they would also have Information perhaps on this unit --- Floyd County Museum @641-2281099.
Good Luck!
