Main Bearing Question on MM-UTS

I am rebuilding a MM-UTS that I know nothing about. I found two main bearings that look like they had a flaw from the factory. Is this something to be concerned about? I was planning to clean up the engine and re-ring it.

I'm sure I'll get some opinions on here that will disagree with mine, but being just a "dumb cow farmer" with 8 Us, I found a couple bearings very similar to yours when I did the same as you, honed the bore, new rings ,ground the valves, new gaskets and put them back together. You didn't mention what your plans for this tractor are but at stock rpm with good oil and used for shows parades and light field work just for an excuse to play with it, I'm sure mine after 20 plus years already will still be running fine after I'm looking at the grass from the brown side. MMs are a very forgiving engine with low rpm and a lot surface area in the bearings.I wouldn't hesitate a second to put it back together and run it , just my 2 cents, good luck and happy wrenching.

I have no proof or science on how this happens, but I have been told by people who think they know, that water causes what you are looking at.

Stop. Turn the crank line bore the block and get new heads. lol. No one had disagreed so I thought I'd help. If it was mine I'd go ahead with your plan. If the crank looks good it'll be fine.
