When I was trying to be cheap on some of my MMs, I used International Harvestor red. If your paint guy can't look that code up, he's lazy. Cherry red is a tiny bit lighter, however.

Was it on the Jetstar.MM website that they had paint codes? Or was it on the MM collectors club website?
 
My 5/03/2004 Dupont chart lists two reds. Formula numbers 4992, and 4737. My PPG/Ditzler chart dated Jan 1972 only lists one formula number 70385. The best way to pick is have them mix up 1/10 formula and spray some test panels. These are automotive paints and will not be inexpensive, depends on if you want it to look good for 6 months, or ten years.
