Whalan Mn has a population of maybe 70 people . One black top in , two gravel out . It's so small the parade doesn't move , you do ! The stand still parade . They had the pleasure of this one today .

A google search led to a forum that said he purchased it on a iowa auction in 2006 for 98k. Sounds like he did pretty good at present value.
 
First 25 were cabless and had X in serial number. Friend of mine had one. First had flat fenders. Someone has borrowed serial number tag.
 
Check this link for history on UDLX #1. Some of the original 25 Opens later had cabs installed which was easy to do because the fenders were already pre-drilled.

I saw this tractor some years ago when it was still in the Monroe's collection on their farm.

They were so gracious with their time - and we spent several hours looking at their collection and swapping stories. It was sure a great day.

And I was really tickled to see they had some White tractors out working in the pens while we were in the barn. Sort of a cross between a working museum and super-enthusiast's get together.
