MM M5 Need radiator education

On the bottom of the radiator is a round tube running the full length of the radiator. Looks like the power steering lines go there and also lines go back to the hydraulics under the seat. Is the radiator hooked directly to this round tube and is it for cooling purposes.
Is oil in this tube???

Round piston is not connected to radiator. There is a piston in the tube, hydraulic lines move the piston to provide power steering. Steering wheel shaft goes into control valve that controls the steering. There is hydraulic fluid on each side of the piston

To say the same thing differently, the power steering gear and the bottom radiator tank are both in the front bolster. They are just part of the same casting.
