UBD Special Road gear

Everything stock except for the tires, I estimate about 18 mph. But if the engine is throttled up and/or the transmission has been revised, it could possibly go faster.

At 1200 RPM with 14.9-38s, I calculate you will be going approx. 14.5 MPH in 5th gear.

Adjust as needed for the RPM you want to run at.

Driven lots of U's. This one is way faster. Wouldn't dare open it up. Is an export UBD with APE pump.

I wonder if being an export model it was geared faster. They were used in much the same way we use trucks overseas. Probably comparing the parts book with a regular UB parts book would tell if the ring and pinion were the same or not.

back on older tractors 40's-early 60's most factories had an option for hi-speed rearends to send to cotton country since MOST cotton was hauled to gin in large wagons pulled by tractors

You can find your MPH with a tape measure, stop watch and a little math. Basically distance traveled and time, to figure feet traveled in a second. Feet per second. I measured out 100 feet and timed it using our cattle wood fence posts. I traveled the 100 feet in 4 seconds, figured out feet per second and multiplied by .681 to get MPH.
100 div by 4 = 25 times .681 = 17.02 mph. Another example taking 5 seconds to cover the 100 feet. 100 div by 5 = 20 times .681 = 13.62 mph.
