Update on carb problem

A few weeks ago I asked how to remove a broken idle adjustment needle from a MS carb. Turns out it was too difficult. Sealed the area with PB Blaster and poked it out using a straight pin. Pin is in picture

Glad you got it out. The rest of the carb doesn't look bad.
Do you know what made the needle stick so bad that it twisted off?

No. Over tightened perhaps. Tip doesn't seemed damaged. Don't know how long it had been that way.

I spent over 3 hours this weekend trying to get an idle mix port out of a TSX-241-B carb. Drilling with different sizes, trying an Easy-Out, proved futile. The most common problem I see when I get a carb for rebuild is this screw/port being all boogered up -the slot is gone/hacked up from someone trying to remove it and then saying forget it and just leaving it. This one was the worst I ever encountered and I swear someone had Loctited it in. I was finally able to get out all the old brass and went to run my 10-32 tap in to chase the threads. Got it all the way in and said, "...one more turn..." and then it snapped. I now have a broken tap piece in the hole. It will need a tap burner to get it out. I am not sure it is worth fixing now...may as well just get a new/used top half. Since retirement, I no longer have access to the equipment but may know someone who does. Anyone have a Top Half with the Economizer Jet for a TSX-241-B they want to sell? Royse???

I have a few out here Tim. Email is open.
When I get home from work I'll look through them.
