My later model 8N ran fine when I parked it for the winter two years ago. When I started it up the next spring it fired up and ran
great...... for about a minute and then died like I had shut the key off. It hasn't started since then. It had spark but I thought it was a little week. I have replaced plugs, points, condenser, new copper core wires, cap, rotor, and two coils. I also replaced the battery
cables with heavy guage cables and installed a new style starter drive. The carburetor had been rebuilt the previous summer. The fuel
tank had premium fuel in it. I have shut the fuel off to the carburetor and tried starting fluid. Still no start, it just gives a half
hearted try. I have not checked the compression with a guage but plugging the spark plugs with my finger shows compression. It also
cranks like the compression is fine. It has spark that looks sufficient and I have tried hooking the coils up both ways. I don't think
it is a fuel problem because it ran fine until it died and I have often left fuel in all winter or all summer with no problems. I'm
going to try pull starting it later this evening when I have some help.
Any ideas.
