Update on 9N project

Thought I'd check in even though I've not made substantial progress. Cyl head is holding on by one stud. They're frozen together, the two. Everything else came loose, top is torn down and all components (what few there are) are removed to free up space to work in. Kinda frustrating--like a wiggly loose tooth when we were kids--just want to yank it out and be done with it. I'll drag it down to the shop when I have some free time, but I'm anxious to look inside after liberating the head. This is a tractor I bought with a tank full of fresh fuel, newer-looking radiator, and good rubber all around. Brakes seem good, clutch appears to be in good adjustment (from what I can tell with it not running) I'll give a shout when I have a little more to report. Thanks all for the good advice so far--didn't want you to think I'd forgotten you.

Is the nut free of the stud? If not try a nut splitter -nuts are a dime a dozen, original studs not. Try some PBBLASTER too in intervals of every 4 hours or so for a few days.

Yes, all nuts are off, tried several things, including PB Blaster. Going to cool it with that for now, since it's all rust-welded together and it's having little if any effect at loosening things up. I'll apply heat to the stud when I get the tractor down to my shop, gently try to back it out with two nuts backed together on the stud. May apply some gentle vibration with my air chisel but not enough to break the stud. Would like to remove the stud intact if possible. Not relying on this tractor to do any work, so no urgency--just want to get into the motor to see what's going on. I know it's stuck, but not sure why--maybe just from sitting or possibly seized while running.
