i'm happy to say my 2N's offseason has officially started. got it swapped around to the back of the pole barn and the hood off. first on the list is swapping out the ignition switch with one i have in inventory, and there will be a fistful of little things to get done. always happy to have the luxury of extended downtime that isn't a problem.

My 9N's off season is almost over! I've been prepping her for another winter of plowing snow. This year it gets loaded turf tires for the rear. In years past it's had unloaded ag tires with chains that mostly disappear below the lugs. The chains on the turf tires will stand proud but will make for a bumpy ride.

if i've got any snow that needs plowing, that's a job for the WD. since my N is a dedicated lawn mower, next spring i'm planning on having the rears unloaded. we're going in opposite directions

Funny you guys are talking about loading tires.
I was pumping CaCl out of a couple tires into a plastic barrel.
The barrel broke. It probably had sat in the sun too long.
50 or so gallons of CaCl all spilled into a part of the yard.
Maybe I won't need a lawn mower there next summer?

Except it will cause more rust if left unattended. ;)

I blew a tire loaded with fluid while plowing with a Case DC. I was at the end of the field, so I drove it out and let the fluid drain out onto the ground. I expected to have a dead spot in that area, where nothing would grow. That wasn't the case though, it never affected the soil in that spot. Go figure.
