Found Royse something to do!

Looks like a lot of potential there Andy.
Like, the potential to get me in trouble with the ole lady! LOL
Not really. There's a lot of good parts there.

I went and checked this out a few weeks ago. It is pure junk. Though s/n show sit to be a 1940 model, the only parts that might be salvageable are the smooth axle hubs, maybe. One rear rim, original 28" hat rim, but total cancer ridden as are the fronts. No idea if engine is froze but my guess it is. Owner says this hasn't run in many decades. There is a hole on the left side where a Sherman shifter handle would go. It looks to have been made with an axe. That is someone drilled a series of small holes with a hand drill, then punched it out to install (probably) the shifter...no telling as owner says no Sherman in it and no handle so explains why the hydraulic oil looked like lumpy gravy (FZ) on the dipstick. It has a 4-spoke steering wheel, but NOT the original 9N 4-spoke steering wheel. Most of the covering is dry rotted off and wheel is cobbled on the shaft. The shifter handle and throttle handle still show chrome plating. Steering arm was changed on right side. The dash is cracked severely from top to bottom and has two starter buttons on it. It has a square voltage regulator, but NOT the correct early 9N one and a 12V alternator but no battery. No grill, cobbled battery door. Left lift ram is non-original -appears to be ho-made. This may have been salvageable years ago but has been setting outside for many, many years now so most of the sheet metal is all rusted out and even the hubs are questionable. The town where this is at is where my wife was raised. My visit was pleasant with the 82 year old owner. It turned out he lives in the same house where my wife's step father lived in with his first wife. Small world.

Jeez, that thing is rough. I bought my '47 8N for $400 and a deer feeder! It even came with a shredder!

I thought those rear axles fetched mega bucks ?

Last I recall the smooth axles were about $200 + each .
Unless you have a restoration project in process, they're worth
what you can sell them for at the time. At least, that's how I see it.
