Can someone tell me how and where to put sure seals in a 2n tractor. I am getting conflicting information on where they go. Do you have to remove the axel bearing to install them?
thanks

no you pack the bearing with grease slide the seal down the axle and try to tap it into place I say try because they can be difficult at best I made a seal driver off a oxygen bottle safety cap I cut the top off leaving the threaded end intact it fit the seal perfectly

Thanks for the help. That cleared up a lot. But do you think that blocking the oil flow to the bearing is a good ideal? I understand I need to pack the bearing and I know some of the tractors have a grease fitting to grease the outer wheel bearing but no one is going to know this tractor has sure seals in it. Just seams like it fixed one problem but created another.
Thanks again for the help

ens of millions of cars & trucks have been on the roads for a lifetime with wheel bearings packed with grease without being flooded in differential grease. I see no problem here.
