I went to tsc today and picked up a new
proof meter cable while I was there. The
one that was on my 52 8n had the end of the
cable broke off on the proof meter. The one
that was on it was metal encased and the
one I bought was plastic incased.

The new one is about 2 inches too short.
Are there different lengths of proof meter
cables? Where is a good place to get one
that is the right length?

Why, this place is even free of all the crappy ads that you see on every other site.

Like Ultradog said, this site has them. a plastic one 34 inches long $9.24 and a steel one for $11.84.
 
I've never had any luck with TSC parts. Usually overpriced and inferior quality. Check out their price for a 6v front coil. $43. Same coil here, $14. $12 shipping.

I just bought some parts from here and am quite happy with them and the prices were good also.
