badge removal

Just got a parts tractor and am wanting to remove the badges (ford & ferguson system) on front of the hood. I thought they were bolted on but after a closer look I see they are not. But appears to have 3 pins. How can I remove them without destroying them? And them mount them on my good tractor? Not even sure how they are attached.

Hope this worked

Newer vehicles have something like a double back sticky tape. But don't know if they did such things in the 40's.

YEP...used a piece of dental floss and worked behind the badges then using a putty knife carefully pried them off. Thanks just needed to bounce ideas around.

Those look like they have been peened over. It's your project, but I would just get new ones. If they aren't listed on this site, nnalert has them. You could also grind off the peened over spots, then attach them to your good tractor with clear silicone sealer.

As Harold said, the badges are secured on with speed nuts. You need to remove the hood and grille to get to them. If boogered up, and you're too concerned with originality, new parts are made and sold exact-as-original at Dennis Carpenter and nnalert. Carpenter is the only licensed by Ford manufacturer of original parts. Many other suppliers buy from him and resell, often at a percentage markup.

Thanks for all the info. It seems if they were attached with speed nuts. They were long gone and reattached with a blue silicone. I have a box of speed nuts so I will clean them up and put on my good tractor to get it back out in the fields. Not a show tractor but one that is used daily. No need for purdy new ones. Thanks again.
