Ford 8n motor value

I’ve been looking at a 1950 side mount Ford 8n motor, supposedly the motor runs and came off a generator, the only things I would have to switch over is the carburetor and governor. I was told I could have a demonstration of the motor running. Anyone know how much these motors go for. I don’t know what the serial number is.

If it is an industrial motor it should have a data plate on top of the bell housing. May have a magneto also. a lot of them did. I have one in one of my 8n's and like the magneto.
I don't have clue what it would be worth. whatever you are willing to pay or whatever the seller is willing to sell for. Start at his asking price and go from there.

I have been seeing ford 8n tractors around here selling for under 2000 dollars that runs good so I wouldn't think it would be worth to much. it seems those prices has gone down a lot the last 2 years.

I would think maybe $400/$500 for good running engine. Of course location might play a big part of it. serial numbers won't matter cause it will have an industrial engine
tag on it. They made a lot of them, the lower the number the older it is. I have one out of a bailer.

Around here you can usually have your pick of the whole thing, if you can find 1, for $5-600.00.
