My brother finally got his 550 going today. Turns out it needed an ignition tune-up and the carb was not to blame (big shocker here....) The distributer came loose in the 70 hours he's put on it, and he never did replace the points, condensor, cap, and rotor when he had the engine torn apart so only God knows how many hours were on those parts.
He finally got them after the urging by myself and his buddy, and then couldn't figure out how to replace them. I flat out refused to help him after he rummaged through my stash in the shop, even though I told him what we had for our tractor's wasn't gonna work on his 550. He stole the parts from me, and when I exchanged words with him about it he said he didn't even use them, I replied "Because they won't fit!!!!".
Thinks he's entitled to everything even though he doesn't help much if any on the farm, yet we're supposed to jump when he wants help. Told him to figure it out on his own.
