I needed new bearings for my steering box. I replaced the bearing under the worm gear, bearing and race above the worm gear and the upper set near the steering wheel. I've read the shop manual, but still cannot get it adjusted right. I've taken the shims plum out and cannot eliminate the up and down movement of the steering wheel when turning. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Did I put the race in too far? The book doesn't say anything about that. The bearings sure look right, it doesn't turn real hard, but turns about half turn before moving the arms. Any help appreciated. Thanks!
