1967 model 1750 diesal Hydraulics

I have a 1967 Oliver 1750 2wd with the 310 waukashaw (spelling) engine. I need to know what hydraulic fluid to use. I have been told both regular and the Hydro/tran stuff. I don't want to hurt the pump. What is in it now is clear with a yellow tint. Would appreciate some knowledge here. I have an operators manual on the way, but that is 10 days out.
Thanks, Rex

If you're not going to share cylinders with tractors that use Hy-Tran type oil, regular hydraulic oil is fine.

Not sure what you men by sharing cylinders with other tractors. The oil in it now has a slight yellowish tint and as I understand it the Hydro/tran has a reddish tint. thanks for the help.

Is it the only tractor that you have,or do you have tractors that use HyTran that you use on the same implements?

Ok, At this time i do not hook up anything to the wet lines in back. we are a small operation. i use big green to bale only with a 310 new holland baler with the kicker taken off. we generally only bale 100 to 150 a day, although 3 weeks ago i baled 475 for a friend in one day. Love the thing but the guy who sold it to me did not tell me it had a sick cylinder. last year i had the fuel pump rebuilt because crank case fills up with fuel, i just replaced the injector on the number 2 cylinder. that did not cure it. waiting for a compression tester. meanwhile i change the oil every 3 hours or when the oil pressure dips below 20 psi. getting prices for rebuild kits and labor. motor does not smoke at all really and has plenty of power. the exhaust port does not heat up on the #2 cylinder till convection does it.

(quoted from post at 06:05:35 08/28/15) I used universal hyd oil in the 1800c. Got it at the local Farm Coop or Farm and Home store.
Thanks for the help. I bought some today and now the 3pt hitch arms are working. Changed the oil with one qt being lucas oil. 30 psi at 1500 rpm. cracked each fuel line and all led to a decline in rpm except the number 2 cyl. compresion tester comes monday so by tuesday we will have a psi on all cyl. something is obviously wrong with the number 2 cyl. I am thinking either rings or Valve?
Thanks for input, Rex
