(Thought that would get rrlund's short attention span)
If I'm not wrong, seems like I have seen this tractor on a calendar or two ??

The 2-85 and 2-88 tractors were some pretty nice units. If I were buying a new 85 HP tractor during the late 1970's or early 1980's they would have received very serious consideration. MFWD would have sealed the deal.

The dealership I used to work for sold a customer two new 2-88's, one with a cab and one without, but it had a factory roll canopy.

They needed a differential lock! Although this summer they pulled the wagons down this access road with a tractor with FWA and duals. But also twice the horsepower of the 2-88.

Given White's financial health back then it probably was not in the cards to do the R & D to make that possible. 2-135 and 2-155 have differential lock? The White cab while as good as JD Sound-Guard in some respects did not allow for the top of the line seat suspension that JD had. The floor shift in the 2-85 does not bother me as it does some people. I think if you were buying new and were buying MFWD with a good turning radius you have to take the 2-85 over an IH 886 unless White's financial situation really bothered you. Lots of competition with JD 4040, IH 886, and Ford 7710.
