Another PSB guestion

Just got another super 88. Hasn't ran in at least 5 years. The plunger is free. The lever under the rectangular cover was stuck but it's freed up now. My question is should it move when the throttle is moved? Thank you.

That has the external spring governor. With the throttle lever forward, you should be able to rock the control shaft the spring is hooked to back and forth. Always open throttle at least 1/3 so max fuel is available for best starting results.

Thanks dieseltech. I will have to go look asap. They are burning slash behind me and it's blowing right in. They wouldn't let the farmers get away with it but they will the loggers. I hope it pours tonight and puts them out.

Olliejunkie, Do you have a picture of your Super 88? We traded our Super 88 in 1988 and I think the dealer was in Burdett N.Y. It was in good shape with narrow front. I think dealer was Schuyler Implement and my wife called them years ago but they just laughed at our inquiry. When we rebuilt it I didn't get enough fuel to the pump and broke it.

I'm in Oregon and the gentleman said they had the tractor for 40 years.
I have only had it for a few weeks and it's still on the trailer hope to drive it off.
It was puffing a little smoke but didn't fire.

Does the mechanical pump still work when you use the hand lever? We also had that same loader and we put it on our 1555. The dealer had told him it wouldn't fit. Looks like yours has the big battery door so would be a newer one mine was a 1954 with the small door.
