Hello Guys, newbie on the forum here... Glad to have found that this wonderfull site is still going! Most of the google links I got referenced threads from 10 years back... Glad to see so much action in 2017 on these tractors!!!
On a 1975 White 1370, I have a non-responsive three point lift. I noticed it became unresponsive during hay season this summer while operating a haybine. The pump is ok (auxiliary hydraulics works fine on the 479 haybine, cleaned the filter anyways, tight pump and all...). Carried all sorts of big logs on a winch + a 6 feet blower last winters since I got the tractor in 2011 without a problem.
I disassembled the hydraulic head unit. Most of the parts seem ok and disassembled fine: main spool is nice, lowering spool valve went off easily, ball valves and springs look nice.
However, the pilot valve won't come off (the big one on the top of the assembly with the big brass capscrew). I managed to spin it from the tabs, but there is nothing to pry it out of there. I suspect a speck of metal could be stuck in there... Don't want the scrape or marr anything...
Is the pilot valve supposed to come off easily? Like with a small magnet while applying rotation? There are no visible feature to get a good pull-out force off of. I think I have plenty of air equalisation on all sides (no more suction).
I understand that this valve is moved around by a lot of pressure, but it feels really stuck in there...
What gives?
Any idea what could be wrong?
I read the older threads about the missing copper gaskets. I understand the issue, but it surely cannot be the case as it stopped working while fully assembled...
Thanks for the help!
