Dieseltech - 1755 Static Timing - Again

As I posted below, I screwed up and didn't time the injection pump before I pulled it off the tractor. I pulled the valve cover and brought it up to TDC, and the valves on the #6 cylinder (toward the rear of the tractor)appear to be closed (one is just starting to open). Do I have the right TDC? I've attached a picture.
The screw up may have been a good thing though - if you look in the picture, you can see that a section of the rocker arm oil line had broken off
Thanks
Pete

The valves on number 1 (front cylinder) should be loose. My e-mail is open. Send me a picture of the other side of that oil line. It does not look right.

I'll get one tonight - my phone died on me last night. I'll try and take it from the other side. It's a piece of copper tubing that connects the rear oil supply fitting on the rocker arm to one in the center. I'll check and see if I have your e-mail

On six cylinder inline engines both # 1 and 6 pistons are at TDC together. When # 1 is on TDC compression stroke both # 1 rockers will be loose as John mentioned. I look at # 6 to be sure, exhaust will be almost closed and intake will just start to open at TDC. This applies to inline four cylinder engines as well. Too many guys get in a hurry to find crank TDC and FORGET to see where the CAM is. Cam determines which cylinder is ready to fire..

John,
I couldn't attach the pictures to the e-mail, so I'll post them here. I think the oil line was routed wrong, and that's why it broke (it looks like the valve cover pushed it down into the rocker arm, and it wore through.
I re-routed it down alongside the rocker arms - I think it should be out of the way there. Let me know what you think
Thanks
Pete
