I am looking at an Oliver 1355 diesel. i don't know much about them but in checking on line it looks like that particular model is not very popular. wondering why that is and if there are common problems with them that relate to that? it has a cab and loader, around 3000 hours and asking price is 8500.00. can anyone tell me if that is in line price wise?
thanks

2WD or 4WD? The 4WD would be the offset drive, and not as good as the later 1365 with centerline drive. Otherwise basically the same tractor with different decals. FIAT built in Italy versus
the Allis FIATs built in Yugoslavia. If you have a tractor dealer nearby who sells Sparex aftermarket parts they have a lot of parts for those series tractors.

it is a 2wd. are these cummins engines and do you think that price is a good average price?

Fiat engine. As long as it's two wheel drive it's OK. The 1365 FWA is great, parts still available, the FWA on the 1355 is different and parts are hard to come by.
That price is way more than it's bring anywhere in the US in my opinion. I bought a 1365 FWA with a loader four or five years ago, from a dealer, delivered to me for $5800. Honestly,in my opinion, for whatever that's worth,$4000-4500.

I think I've found the same ad. That tractor is actually a Oliver g1355 with a moline engine. They were not very popular because of the 585
motor and their tendency to blow up. There are not too many problems with that model, but an engine rebuild is very expensive.

That explains why it would have a cab. I hadn't even thought about a G1355. I guess the loader part was what made me think Fiat.

If you are interested in it make sure it has the external engine oil pump update kit installed, or as Owen says it is a ventilated crankcase waiting to happen. D585 is only a four main
engine.
