1750 on a 1412 NH discbine

My 1750 is a good solid machine. Will it be okay on a NH 1412 discbine. I make 150 acres tops of
hay a year. Not interested in super speed around the field. I guess the 1412 is recommended to
have 80 horsepower. Any input?

jhwis, we have a New Holland 1411 that we pulled with a 1755. It seems to handle it just fine in our Southwest Missouri hills. I cut with it in 5th over in the forty acre river bottom, that's the only field we have that is smooth enough to run that fast. It started creeping up on the engine temperature so I shifted down to direct and it cooled back to normal. It will pull it faster than you can stand to ride it in all the rest of our fields. I use my 1655 to mow with a New Idea 5209 which is a 9 foot cut vs. 10' 4" I believe the New Holland is. It handles it just fine. The New Idea is a lot lighter too, and is easy to pull. I like both machines really well, but the New Idea is a lot less of a load and doesn't make one use as much fuel. I said pulled because we bought a 7040 Allis Chalmers powershift specifically for the New Holland this year.
