Turbo 550 Oliver? Anyone?

Good question, but I really wonder if the rods with that splatter oil system would hold up. When I overhauled mine I was shocked when I saw how the rods were oiled, but it does work.

I doubt the engine makes enough oil pressure to keep a turbo alive, they only make 15 psi tops. And like the others, I doubt the splash rod bearing would live long with added cylinder pressure. Outside of the cool factor of the turbo, the Super 55/550 really couldn't put much more power to the ground because of their weight. My Super 55 weighs 3800, and still spins out in the 4000 class at our antique pulls.

have a 880 with turbo, like you say oil pressure about 15, turbo lives and so do rod bearings, motor turns 3000 rpm, runs on lp fuel
