1550 distributor

Both of my 1550's have vacuum advance distributors. The one I use for tractor rides will miss under a heavy load and from about 1900 to 2100 rpm if you shove the throttle full open from an idle. I went to change the condenser and the inside of the distributor had some rust, so I pulled it and took it apart to clean it up. The plate the points fasten to wobbles, nearly impossible to set the points. Are replacement parts available for the inside of the distributor or do I need to replace the distributor with a different one?

Is it the plate that's loose or are the bushings worn on the shaft ? I'm not sure with your model what's available I do know you can get bushings for a few distributors.

It's the plate, bushing is good.

Chris replace it. Call Mark Korves and get a new one from them.. Did that to my 1550 and it works great.

Chris: We used to attach the plate with a machine bolt so the plate could not move and disable the vacuum advance, Questions?J/
