ok this tractor is giving me hydraulic problems. i checked the pressure at the couplers and have 2100 psi. once it gets warmed up it making that cavitating noise like out of oil. so this evening i put the guage back on and when you pull the hyd. lever it goes to 2100 then let go of the lever and the pressure slowly drops off. it struggles to lift an implement. plus at times it vibrates and just is not smooth running and you can hear that hyd. whine. is this problem in the control levers ? as it dont appear to be the pump. just like something is bypassing. the oil is foamy in the tank also. plus have tryed both hyd. outlets. both the same deal. yes oil level is full.

Hmmm. Foamy oil makes me think air. Do you have the hydraulic oil cooler pump on the pump on the left side engine belt drive? When those seals go bad they introduce air into the system.

Do you have a service manual for it? If not I suggest you get one, as the testing is pretty extensive. I would go to the Agco site and get one, you download it from them, or buy a printed copy. I believe the 2-85/2-150 hydraulic service manual is a little less money and is pretty much the same with exception to the cooling pump, belt drive on earlier 55 series. You may want to look at the suction hose on your pump, they get dry and hard and may have a pinhole in it. Filter housing gasket and bleeder on top of it may also be sucking air.

I did find a suction leak on the small pump. Removed the 3/8 nipple and replaced it with a new one and put it back together and hyd. Works good now. I also drained out the trans and diff oil as it appeared to be hyd. Oil. Put in gear oil and things seam good so far. Gonna watch for hyd. Oil entering the diff. Tommorrow. My last complaint is that is has a studder vibration that kinda comes and goes. I have set the hydra power height and replaced the chain coupler. Nice tractor when its running good. Dread the thought of pulling the engine in the spring to replace the rear hydra power seal that is leaking.
