Putting some steel wheels on a Oliver 66. The factory bolts go into the taper quite a ways. Do you guys use them, use one with a bigger head, put a stud in or do something else? Thank you

use a backup ring with the steel wheels and yes I use the taper lug bolts.

I picked up some 18.4-38. (thank you Arlen) the mounting holes are larger than the Oliver wheels. They will only be going on the 66 temporary and I will probably be moving them to my 77 or 88 later. Stock lug nuts would work for temporary use but I don't want them to be permanent. Thank you for your suggestion.

put studs in the 9/16 holes and lug nuts on them which have a larger nut that fits a 7/8 wrench . I just drilled the wheel threw and put 9/16 grade 8 bolts in and put the nuts on the 9/16 lug
nuts on my 770 oliver . couldn't get a picture tonight .

Thank you. That's what I figure I will have to do unless I can find a bolt with oversized head.
