Cam Lock hose fittings

I'm thinking of getting some cam lock hose fittings.
How air tight are these type fittings.
How will they perform under vacuum (for priming a pump).

I wanna use them to connect my suction and discharge hoses to my roller pump.

Have used them on my spraying equipment for years. Only issue I have had is an occasional seal ring leak. Don't think this is a fault of the couplings themselves as it is the fact that over the years I have bought them from about a half dozen different suppliers and there is some variation in tolerances between brands.

Female fitting has a rubber gasket so the face of male fitting seals against it when clamped. They work real well as long as you do not damage male fitting sealing area. Used alot for pumping sludge, water etc.
