Cheap portable tachometer

I bought a tachometer off eBay that facinates me. You place it on any turning object--like an engine, bench grinder, drill press and turn a dial which extends a small wire. When the circle at the end of the wire starts to blurr, it gives the RPM of the object-- on the dial.
I haven't tried it on a PTO shaft etc. but it is supposed to work.
I have checked the RPM of many electric motors and IT IS ACCURATE.
This might be an old tool to some but I didn't know about it.

I used them for years teaching Vocational Small Engine mechanics; the tool is a Vibra-Tach. I glued a couple magnets on the back of mine so I could use it hands-free (on metal housings, that is).
