Mp210 welder

Now that they have been out a few years, any opinions on it? Comments I found on line are from 2014/15 and do a lot of taking about just getting it, etc. I see they are now 1250, but have a co-worker offering me it for 800. Comes with mid, stick and tig. Has the tig adapter installed. Mainly for home use/hobby. Thoughts?

That is an awesome welder. I run a welding supply store. I have sold at least 10 210MP machines in the last 2 years.
Have not had 1 come back. What's nice about the 210MP is that it can run on 110 or 220V, without having to wire anything up. You just use a plug adapter, and the machine senses the voltage given. The digital display allows you to select the process, wire diameter, and material thickness. The TIG feature is a nice feature to have, but it is not high frequency AC, which is used for aluminum. If your not in a production facility that will be fine. You can add a spool gun for around 200 bucks. That is a perfect machine for the home, I recommend it. Depending on the condition, perfect = good deal, I would offer 700, and go from there. Good Luck!

It is virtually new. Maybe 2lb of wire through it. Guy that bought it had to have it, but 2 years later realized he has no issue for it. Sort of an impulse buy for him.

Could it do aluminum Tig or just steel?

Aluminum without high frequency does not work well. Some say they can do it, but I haven't been able to make it work. If you can get a spool gun for $200 that would work for some aluminum projects. Even that is going to be limited on both the thick and thin sides. Mig is tough to do on thin aluminum, less that 1/8", and your going to run out of power on thicker stuff. Takes about twice the amps on same thickness aluminum compared to steel.

In case no one read my post.

I would buy it. I have one and have only used it MIG and stick welding. I love it. It is 40-175 stick and TIG amps IIRC. 14.0-25.0 volts for MIG welding. I am planning on getting a spoolgun to do aluminum. I think $800 is a good deal if it works well. Also DC only output. Sorry that I'm late to the thread. Matthew L

OP, do it like on Craigslist and ax if he'll take $200! LOL

He could put that on CL and for sure it will get those clowns calling...It's interesting they are finally making machines for the DIY or small shop, instead of $6K for a separate TIG, MIG, and stick...
