scissors jack

I just acquired, from a salvage yard scrap pile, a heavy scissors jack that has a gear box that
allows the auger to be turned at two different speeds. I've never seen anything like it. Is this an
uncommon piece or have they been around and I just never ran across one? I can't find a name on it
but it looks like it has a model number: 41405. I think it said lift capacity was 4000 lbs.
Thanks,
Cliff

I have seen one or two of those jacks with that gear drive many, many years ago.The idea was to lift heavy loads easier than regular scissors jacks. Not a common jack for ag. use ? clint

Uncommon as far as I know. I bought one from Sears 45 yrs ago that sounds like the same kind as yours...does it have a real heavy base plate with a kickup at each end? And the lifting saddle is larger than normal for a scissor jack? Does the direct drive end have a hex shape as well as the drilled hole in side for a crank?

I still have mine & have used it a lot - the big base & saddle makes it much more stable than other scissors - but I'd never seen another one until 2 yrs ago, on ebay. I bought it.
