Upolstery hammer. Split like that so you get a good magnetic pick up. Not necessarily strong but a wider good field. Now if you look at an old box of carped tacks or upolstery tacks what is in little letters on the box. Sanitized, blued, some say steam sanitized or sterilized . Now why? Because you put the tacks in your mouth. As you are working you bring the end of that hammer to your mouth and pink...a tack will automaticaly be the right way around on the end. Swing your little hammer and then get another tack. Todays kids would cring! Lot cheaper than a tacker air gun. Brads sure do work nice though.
 
Got 2 of them. Handy when you are doing something you don't want to hit too hard.
Wife keeps one in kitchen drawer.

jeff, the things you learn on here, knew about the hammer, tacks blued and in mouth but never knew about the sanitized. thanks
