with this old plate type corn planter and a ford 3600, one section of about 3+ acres and another of about 4+ acres.

Its not amazing because of the equipment but because of all the rain here around Louisville, KY. I had one dry piece of time last week to do a bunch of discing and then get it planted and then it rained the next morning and has rain off and on every day since then.

There is also rain forcasted at 40% or better 8 times in the 10 day forcast.

Don't really have any idea when hay will begin to be cut.....

At least I'm not flooded, my prayers go out to those who are and also to those in the only other town I've ever called home, Tuscaloosa, Al - Roll Tide!

The boxes are farmer inginuity at it's best. Handles and all. They'll never rust out.

It's real frustrating to be that wet this late in the season. Hope the rain doesn't just shut off for the rest of the season and not come when you need it. Jim

I'll do my best to remember to take some pics of the connection and post them in a few days, I'll be gone from the computer till Friday evening.

Basically though I cut a hole in the middle of the buckets so they fit just right and just bolted them on.

About the weather, yep it will rain like the dickens and then just stop for the summer. Last few years have been all the same.

Big first cutting of hay and then 2nd cutting is about 20%

Guy across the road from my house is try'n to disk some corn ground right now, good bit of mud stick'n to his tires. I think I will go work on some more fence this afternoon and see how things look in the morn'n.

That photo takes me back to my younger days!! Dad bought a new leftover 1979 Ford 3600 in April of 1980. We used it with a John Deere 494A planter. Put almost 400 hours on it in the first 3 years just planting corn and beans. Dad has long retired and I have it now. It still does a great job. We ran the snot out of it planting, setting tobacco and cutting hay on a just a tank of fuel per day. Still fires right up without any spray on those cold winter days.
