Was checking horses yesterday and saw some cop cars, ambulance and firetruck going out one of the access roads. Got nosey and went to look. Guy down the road that has (had) a booming business with sheetmetal (mostly rain gutters/drainage), couple years from full retirement, went out in the woods and hung himself. Guess he didn't want anyone to find/help him right away because he was hanging about 30 feet off the ground. He had dropped off a ladder and drove his van back to tomn and parked it. Then walked back and hung himself. Guy that found him saw the ladder then looked up and founds him.

Unbelievable................. and nobody knows why (except him)...
 
Sad when people do that, It makes you wonder is there really anything that bad to make you do that. I had a elderly buddy do that years ago, never seen it coming.
 
Friend of mine had that happen to her dad. He had got depressed after losing his job, walked into the woods, hung himself. Bad part was it was his daughter that found him.
 
A close freind of mine called me one evening and asked me to join him for a beer, it was late and I was tired, so I declined. Next day found him dead. Suicide. Never really blamed myself but even now, 25 years later. I wonder what he was thinking? Just no answers to those questions.
 
like fullthrottle, i too had a close friend who i would go see every Tuesday night after work, separated from wife, would spend couple of hours b/s-ing. one Tues, didn't make it over. weds am got call, he started up car, in garage, laid down to go to sleep. back in '85. still thinking what would happen if i went over that Tues.
