Wiring diagram

Looking for a simple wiring diagram to allow me to create flashers (turn indicators) for my MF and trailer. I will have four light units, two on the tractor and two on the trailer of which the ones on the left will show other driver when I intent turning left the right will work the same. I guess I need some sort of switch, flasher unit, wires, fuse and connections. Any ideas welcome.
Thanks
Bill

All you have to do is go to a junkyard, or auto parts store, and pick up a 552 heavy duty flasher unit, and put the hot wire on the appropriate terminal, and the wire for your lights on the other. I don't recall, but I think you won't mess up the flasher, if you connect it wrong, just won't function.

Whoops, misread the post. To make turn signals, get one of the old style turn signal units, like the old jeeps have, mounts on the steering column, and has a little wheel, that runs against the steering shaft, to cancel the signals. If you don't feel like cutting a hole in the column guard, don't, and just remember to turn it off, manually.

its really very simple...starting from your power source run a 14 gauge stranded wire to a fuse holder...7.5 amp should be plenty...from the fuse run more 14 gauge to either spade on a heavy duty 2 spade flasher unit...from there run more 14 gauge to the center post of a center off [on-off-on] 3 pole toggle switch...run 14 gauge from each side of switch to the left pair of lights or the right side...make sure lights are grounded...thats it.

Bought an old boat and trailer, with no lights- thought about going the wireless route ($290), but bought a tail light wiring kit ($30) instead. Can't remember perzactly why I went that route. . . LOL

Hey Bill,
the setup on german tractors is pretty simple, then wire in a trailer plug and a prewired set for the trailer can be had for 20 bucks. If you'd like, I can send you a wiring diagram. Just shoot me an email at
